About Me
Vivien Smith is a lighting designer, technician, and electrician based in Richmond, VA and Baltimore, MD. They graduate in May, 2026 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Theatre, Concentration in Lighting Design/Technical Production. Previously, they graduated from Baltimore School for the Arts with a concentration in Stage Design and Production.
During their time at VCU, Vivien has designed for multiple school projects, including their senior thesis of The Crucible. They also worked for the Virginia Repertory Theatre, The Lost Colony, and various union over hires.
Vivien’s accolades include the A. Lynn Lockrow Backstage Award for their professionalism at The Lost Colony, and an assisting credit for the Artsie Award winning lighting design of Misery.
